The opening ceremony for the BC Marine Trail was a great success. About 100 paddlers participated in the landing at the beach at Ladysmith. Michael Pardy in the lead asked permission from a local First Nations Chief to land and we returned a paddle salute, a gesture of friendship and respect. I'm in the red Titan with the red paddle jacket and hood on the right. About 25 paddlers rolled after the salute.
